Vigor PE Programme

Overcome premature ejaculation via pelvic physiotherapy

Use the Vigor PE Programme to help you improve your ejaculatory control one milestone at a time, from desensitisation to improved pelvic floor muscle control.

Break your premature ejaculation cycle

Good news. PE is treatable beyond resorting to numbing applications and other coping mechanisms.

Physical therapy for men’s pelvic floor is a clinically proven and effective treatment for Premature ejaculation (PE).

Pelvic physical therapy and electrical stimulation training provides measurable and longer lasting results on a physical level.

If you are already using coping mechanisms such as numbing applications be it PE sprays or wipes, physical therapy can definitely help you prolong it with increased physical control, and slowly rely lesser and lesser on coping mechanisms.

Vigor Men’s Health Centre provides a targeted pelvic floor physical therapy to help you strengthen your pelvic floor muscles that play a vital role in your ejaculatory reflex. When your pelvic floor is stronger and you learn the control techniques, it can significantly improve your endurance.

Let Physical Therapy Be Your
First Line Treatment

Whether you have Lifelong PE (Primary PE) or Acquired PE (Secondary PE), when you ejaculate too quickly during sexual activity, typically within one minute of penetration, and has little control over delaying ejaculation, Pelvic Physical Therapy can help with improving the physical aspect of the issue.

Pelvic Physical Therapy (or pelvic physiotherapy) helps with premature ejaculation and overall sexual function by training, and in some cases re-training our body whether it is a sensitivity issue or a deterioration of our pelvic floor muscles due to ageing, lifestyles, or pelvic surgery.

Your Journey to Treating
Premature Ejaculation (PE) Starts Here

Consultation & Customized Treatment Plan

Your first step is a detailed consultation where we discuss your specific concerns and medical history. Once we understand your unique situation, we create a personalized treatment plan. PE is rarely solved with a one-size-fits-all approach, so we tailor our methods to your specific needs.

Physical Therapy for Control Training

Physical therapy is crucial for managing premature ejaculation by strengthening muscles that control ejaculation, helping delay it, and improving sexual control.

Education & Professional Support and Guidance

Throughout your treatment, we will provide continuous education and support. We address your concerns about sexual health, including strategies for managing anxiety and improving intimacy. Open communication and education are ongoing parts of your journey.

How it works

Our PE treatment is divided into 4 modules, each targeted to improve one aspect of your condition.

Depending on the results of your first consult and assessment, your treatment will include these modules:

  • Desensitization therapy
  • Pelvic Floor Muscles conditioning
  • Behavioral modifications
  • Breathing techniques

You will be guided by a pelvic health professional throughout the journey, and advice and tips will be given when you achieve milestones within each module. For example, in the initial phase, when your main reason of PE is weak pelvic floor muscles, as training up muscles take time, we may also give practical tools and tips to help you prolong the duration from where you are every step along the way.

In other words, your progress and improvement would be measured, and we will take steps to ensure your progression does not regress (go backwards).

Role of Pelvic Physiotherapy in Premature Ejaculation (PE) Treatment

This study assessed the effectiveness of pelvic floor rehabilitation in 78 men with lifelong PE. The program focused on increasing awareness of pelvic floor muscles, timed contractions during the pre-orgasmic phase, and strengthening through biofeedback, exercises, and electrostimulation. After 2–6 months of training, 54% of patients were cured, with a subgroup improving their intravaginal ejaculation latency time (IELT) from <2 minutes to >10 minutes. Younger patients (<35 years) showed higher success rates (65%).

Key takeaway: Pelvic floor muscle rehabilitation is a time-intensive but effective, drug-free approach for managing PE, with the added benefit of no side effects.

La Pera, G. (2014). Awareness and timing of pelvic floor muscle contraction, pelvic exercises, and rehabilitation of the pelvic floor in lifelong premature ejaculation: 5 years’ experience. Archivio Italiano di Urologia e Andrologia, 86(2), 123–125. https://doi.org/10.4081/aiua.2014.2.123

In this study, 80 men with PE were divided into two groups: one receiving the stop-start technique alone and the other combining it with sphincter control training. After 6 months, both groups showed significant improvements in IELT and reduced scores on the Premature Ejaculation Diagnostic Tool (PEDT). However, the group combining stop-start and sphincter control training demonstrated superior results in increasing IELT and reducing PE symptoms.

Key takeaway: The stop-start technique is effective for PE, but combining it with sphincter control training enhances outcomes, providing a comprehensive strategy for symptom improvement.

FAQ

1. What duration is considered Premature Ejaculation (PE)?

In some cases, PE may improve over time, especially if it is caused by temporary factors like stress or anxiety. However, consistent or long-term PE may require treatment and professional guidance for effective management.

There’s not much you need to prepare. Just remember your symptoms and be ready to discuss them openly with your therapist during the first session.

For certain cases, a DRE (Digital Rectal Examination) may be required. In DRE the therapist will insert a finger into your anus to assess your pelvic floor muscles. An EMG (Electromyography) may also be performed to aid the optimal assessment, where an anal probe is inserted to track your pelvic muscle strength and endurance.
